Bookkeeper/Office Administration

Location: Prince George, BC
Position Type: Full-Time, In-Person, 35 hours per week

ROLE SUMMARY

WorkForce Development Consulting Services of Northern BC is seeking a versatile, highly organized, and detail-oriented Business Administrator / Bookkeeper to oversee the financial health and daily operations of three small businesses. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a dynamic environment and can balance hands-on bookkeeping with operational and strategic support.

 

You will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records across multiple entities, ensuring compliance, and supporting business growth through budgeting and financial analysis.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

Multi-Entity Bookkeeping & Financial Reporting

  • Maintain a full, separate set of books for three businesses (AP/AR, general ledger)

  • Perform monthly bank and credit card reconciliations

  • Prepare and analyze monthly financial statements (balance sheet, income statement, cash flow)

  • Coordinate with external accountants for year-end reporting and audits

 

Banking, Payroll & Regulatory Compliance

  • Manage banking activities, including deposits and transfers

  • Process bi-weekly payroll, including deductions and employee records

  • Complete and submit all required filings (GST/HST, source deductions, WorkSafeBC)

  • Oversee business insurance policies, renewals, and compliance requirements

 

Purchasing & Operational Management

  • Manage purchasing processes, including vendor coordination and cost optimization

  • Identify inefficiencies and recommend improvements to streamline operations

  • Support general office administration and operational projects with financial oversight

 

Strategic Planning & Budgeting

  • Lead annual budgeting for existing operations and new initiatives

  • Develop financial models and cost/benefit analyses

  • Monitor budget vs. actual performance and provide variance reporting

 

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

  • Diploma or degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration (preferred)

  • Mandatory bookkeeping certification

  • Minimum 3+ years of full-cycle bookkeeping experience, ideally in a multi-entity or small business setting

  • Strong experience with Sage Accounting (required)

  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel

  • Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy

  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills with the ability to manage competing priorities

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Partnership Coordinator

ROLE SUMMARY

WorkForce Development Consulting Services of Northern BC (WDCS North) is seeking a motivated and relationship-focused Training Coordinator to join our Employment Services team.

The Job Developer works directly with employers and community partners to create employment opportunities for clients facing barriers to employment. This role focuses on developing strong employer relationships, identifying labour market opportunities, and supporting clients in securing sustainable employment.

 

The successful candidate will be an engaging communicator who enjoys building relationships, working with employers, and helping individuals connect to meaningful employment.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with employers across multiple communities

  • Identify employment opportunities that align with client skills and local labour market needs

  • Promote client candidates to employers and support successful job placements

  • Assist clients with job search strategies including resumes, interviews, networking, and employer outreach

  • Conduct job search skills workshops or small group sessions as required

  • Represent WDCS North at employer meetings, community events, and networking opportunities

  • Work collaboratively with Employment Counsellors and program staff to support client success

  • Maintain accurate employer and placement records within program systems

  • Stay informed on labour market trends and employer hiring needs

 

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

We are primarily seeking candidates with relevant experience and transferable skills. A formal degree is not required.

 

Ideal candidates may come from backgrounds such as job development, employment services, recruitment, sales, marketing, community outreach, client services, or workforce development.

 

The successful candidate will demonstrate:

  • Experience facilitating workshops or training for adult learners, preferably related to employment readiness, life skills, or digital literacy

  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and group facilitation skills

  • Ability to build relationships with employers, clients, and community partners

  • Knowledge of the Skills for Success framework and employment-related programming is an asset

  • Comfort using technology including Microsoft Office, email, and online tools

  • A compassionate, patient, and adaptable approach to working with individuals from diverse backgrounds

  • Knowledge of community resources and the ability to refer clients to appropriate support services when needed

  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment

  • Current and satisfactory Criminal Record Check

  • Valid Driver’s License and access to a reliable vehicle

  • Some out of town travel may be required
